[Worldwide Koi Club] Pond Pump died. Suggestions for new one?
Hello Colleen. I can’t advise you about pumps because I don’t know enough, but I can tell you that my new Matala Pond Vac, purchased this spring, is probably the most useful purchase I’ve made this year. I’m attaching a link which will tell you more about it, although you’ll probably want to deal with someone in your country (I’m in Canada) to facilitate shipping.

It has excellent suction, although it apparently isn’t as effective in ponds deeper than three feet. No matter - I used it for my spring clean-up when the water levels were quite low, and I’ll use it again in the autumn when I do another good scouring. I usually drain the pond to just under two feet deep so I can do a good job.
What I like most about it is that it shuts itself off when the container is full and then turns itself back on once the load has been discharged. And you should see the muck it picks up! I recommend it highly and wish I had had it a few years ago because pond maintenance is certainly a lot easier now.
Sincerely, Brenda
