Live OR Frozen Artemia for Coral

Hello everyone, I have recently acquired some stony corals, Galaxea fascicularis. I’ve heard that we should feed them with Artemia to keep them healthy. Should I use frozen ones or culture live ones? Which is better for the corals? Do live ones have more nutritional value? Pls advise. Thank you!

SELAS Meeting Announcement (SouthEast Louisiana Aquarium Society)

Hi Groups,
Sorry for the cross-post but I’m only doing it to two groups so it shouldn’t affect too many folks.
SELAS is SouthEast Louisiana Aquarium Society, http://www.selas.us, which is a recently set up society for this area.
While I’m a member of the society, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to attend meetings, etc., due to […]

[AquaticLife] Eheim 2227 and PH

One thing that occurs to me. If you think that filter may have made a difference maybe you recently added it. Some of the things you can put in filters can variously pull bad things out of the water, and even change the ph (more likely by raising […]

[AquaticLife] Eheim 2227 and PH

Just out of curiosity, how are you measuring ph? I use the API test kits, and I can’t discern teh results with that degree of specificity. What is more, my ph reagent usually suggests a lower ph than my high ph reagent. I do know if the colors […]

[AquaticLife] Eheim 2227 and PH

What time of day did you test the pH? Was it first thing in the morning? Was it later in the day? Do you have any other test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, GH, KH?
We went through this recently with someone else so yours may be the same situation.
Do you have live plants […]

I also called a local pet store and they sell them for around that price too.

I just don’t have a set up for him at all, I […]

No I didn’t see the size they get to be, how big do they get to be?
I think I have someone near me willing to buy it from me, which is awesome… I don’t want anything that can be that mean or eat my expensive cichlids… and some are expensive…

Sand

I couldnt agree more many many moons ago at the university when ever I set up a new tank I always used the diatom filter to remove debris from our substrates before I did anything else works fantastic and eliminates further problems with it as what we were using was collected on […]

[UniQuaria] unidentified fish

Oh great, that is not what I bargained for, probably not the best fish for a beginner either… ugh…

I will have to look into the black worms…
I also have to look into what this sucker retails for, as I think I may have over paid for him, but that is just me… maybe […]

unidentified fish

I purchased a couple of fish for my tank last night and one of the fish ordered was a blue moorei dolphin, however that is not what arrived, it looks like a cross between a shark and a cat fish. It has small whiskers, it is blue in color, actually a nice color. It is […]
