We fill our’s right up and they bow a bit not sure if you are putting a lid on or not, but you might be better off just to obtain some screen material the stuff used for windows or chicken wire to keep him in. They bow enough that the lid would not fit..

Good morning Kelly,
If the fish are not eating all you are giving them then you need to cut back. The left over feed is causing high levels in your tank. I think you would be better off to feed them two flakes twice a day and not feed them the wafer.
