[AquaticLife] eheim 2217

First, I always like to have 2 filters.
Second, while Eheim might be the highest quality, it comes with a high price as well. For my money I like the Rena Filstar XP3 and XP4 filters. I’ve only had them 2 years so far however. My Eheims and my Rena’s do an […]

[AquaticLife] eheim 2217

Hi Myron,
I can not speak on the condition of the Eheim filter but I did want to address the loss of power from your two Fluval filters. I have a few- well, maybe 6 of these different ones. Over the years I have come to have to deal with the 303 and 304 or 404 […]

eheim 2217

Hi, Iv’e got a leaking 125 gal. tank that I need to replace and I’m thinking of getting an Eheim 2217 to replace a fluval 404 that has lost power over time. I currently have it along with a Fluval 304 to help out (also somewhat under-powered)and I’m thinking to keep the […]

Pond Pump died. Suggestions for new one?

I don’t see much mention of efficiency in the pond pump discussions. The topic originator had to replace an existing pond pump, and couldn’t wait very long to get a replacement in place.
We’re using a Laguna Max Flo 2400 (submersible pump which can handle small solids, enclosed in a cage) which is […]

The waterfall and filter are powered by a older design Diamond Mag Flow pump I had for over 12 years. This pupm looks like a standard sump pump and is rated at 3,700 gph. This pump had turned may a Koi into chopped […]

[UniQuaria] unidentified fish

Me too, I mean he is neat to watch and stuff, but I don’t want to take chances that he will get hungry and grab an unsuspecting cichlid…

I also called a local pet store and they sell them for around that price too.

I just don’t have a set up for him at all, I […]

[UniQuaria] unidentified fish

Wow.. He sounds like an interesting critter. 10″+ though! Does say uncommon to the hobbyist and expect to pay 20-25 pounds for it, so roughly $40-50. At least you didn’t get taken on the price. Hopefully you can recoup some money in getting rid of him.

Sand

Absolutely. Once you have your filters running and the tank clear, you will need to cycle the tank. This can be done easily by adding flake food daily to the tank as a food source for bacteria, or by adding straight ammonia to the tank every day… It will take 3-4 […]

Pond Pump died. Suggestions for new one?

Thanks to everyone who answered. I got a Tetra WGP1900 pump yesterday at Lowes. There were some really nice ones I would liked to have tried on the net, but I needed it right away. This one is submersible and comparable to the one I had. I think I may look […]

I bought the fine netting (green)they sell at the fabric store. fold it up under the hoop ( so the fabric sits 18″ or so down). I then folded the edges over the top of the hoop, stitched it closed on my sewing machine, […]
