Angelfish laying eggs

I would have no problems selling the young angel’s (or any young fish I happen to breed if he wants them) to the LFS. I think there would be a better market in gourami’s or pleco’s (especially the dwarf pleco’s as they only order the sailfin pleco’s) though, as neither arrive here […]

[AquaticLife] I’m back

A neighbor across the street set up a tank this past summer and she is battling brown algae. I don’t want to give her any wrong advice. I thought maybe it was from over feeding, but I looked it up and these are the causes
Cause
° Diatoms
° Excess silicates & nitrates
° Inadequate light
° […]

[AquaticLife] Driftwood Cleaning & Curing…. Now, why didn’t I think of this???

Rubber band the brim onto a foot ball or something similar shaped (round) and leave it sit, that’ll bend the brim back without having to hand bend it (and get frustrated when it bends back outward, LOL). Amber

Dishwashers are different, depending on the brand and the age. Some have simple plastic hang-on things in them that you can put a slowly dissolving tab in them. Other’s have systems built into the doors where you refill them with either liquid spot remover or a tablet and it dispenses it with each […]

Im sorry I have ADHD! brackish water set up

I am not familiar with the Filter system you mention, but, beside the iron it pulls out, it may be reducing the amount of calcium in the water. This, plus an abundance of CO2 in the water may account for the 6.8 pH at the start, and the higher pH as the water outgases the […]

[AquaticLife] Im sorry I have ADHD! brackish water set up

First, a brackish water tank will naturally have a higher pH than your other tanks simply by the nature of the water. You do not say how you are making the water brackish, the specific gravity of the water in your brackish tank is OK. You should use a good quality marine salt, as you […]

CB, Raven and Lucille

Unless you are teetering on the edge of having enough oxygen in the tank to support the fish, which, from the video’s I saw you are not, there is nothing to worry about. Yes, live plants will take in O2 at night and release CO2 in turn, it is not normally enough to upset the […]
