Angelfish laying eggs
I would have no problems selling the young angel’s (or any young fish I happen to breed if he wants them) to the LFS. I think there would be a better market in gourami’s or pleco’s (especially the dwarf pleco’s as they only order the sailfin pleco’s) though, as neither arrive here […]
[AquaticLife] OT - DebR’s Dishwasher issue (was -Driftwood Cleaning & Curing…. Now, why didn’t I think of this???)
Oh, the over-sudsing thing happened a couple of years ago while my son was home on vacation. We finally got enough of the Dawn out by refilling the hole in the door with hot water and then soaking it out with paper towels over and over […]
[AquaticLife] An experiment has started…
Major disappointment! No change at all to my tank water. 4 ppm ammonia and 0 ppm nitrates!
Well, my test may indeed have been flawed. Adding fish would not have shot the ammonia up to 4ppm and that might have had an adverse effect on the bacteria. I might have gotten a […]

No, I did not buy the product from him. He sells cycle though. He just does not believe in instant fish ready, I could tell. I can not wait to see how much all my readings are in the morning. I knew that I only needed one or the other. […]

I hope you didn’t mess up. There was no need to add ammonia first. If anything, you should have added the Dr. Tim’s first, then started dosing ammonia.. or just added fish.. since that is the purpose of the product.
I guess it should still work if the backwards plan of adding the ammonia […]

OT for Ray—–Yo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\\Steve//—help here please!
Ray, My hubby is a computer type guy, too. Does that stuff for a living. Anyway, I wanted to pipe in here just a minute if you don’t mind a bit more info. First, the problem could be your Windows 98 since some things aren’t going to be compatible these days. I […]

Unless you are teetering on the edge of having enough oxygen in the tank to support the fish, which, from the video’s I saw you are not, there is nothing to worry about. Yes, live plants will take in O2 at night and release CO2 in turn, it is not normally enough to upset the […]

I skipped over DebR’s question earlier this morning (what the heck am I doing getting up at 4 AM when I can sleep late?). Algae is a primitive plant, probably the most primitive we are likely to see up close and personal. It is often the first plant to grow in aquaria, even if we […]
