question on feeding

Kelly, what kind of filter is on the tank? Assuming it is filtered and that the media has been left untouched, you should be somewhere in the middle of the cycling process. Being such a small tank, I would suggest keeping the levels safe by way of water changes, the filter will […]

bio filter

This is a situation where cartridge filers are real nice. You can get cartridges of varying porosity to filter out what you want. For instance, you could get a filter rated at 3 microns and everything 3 microns and larger will be filtered out (and eventually, smaller than 3 microns as the filter clogs).

Water Well Question

Ray, thanks for your informative post on the subject of my unfiltered water tests.  It’s good to know that I have options.  Currently I am only keeping fish, not breeding.  I have 3 tanks, a 90 gal, 20L gal and 10 gal…  I do weekly 25% PWC on the 90 and twice a week 25% PWC […]

I am once again thoroughly enjoying ponding/ koi keeping.

After loosing every last one of my koi last season I have recovered from the devastation of that experience. It was frustrating, upsetting, saddening, and heart wrenching. In the process though I’ve learned a tremendous amount. I’m a DIY kind of person and I’m also frugal so building my own DIY […]
