Hi Kim,
Have you been keeping an eye on the water parameters in your pond? When the fish died, you said they looked to be in good condition. Did you look at their gills at all before disposing of them?

My priorities on testing would be.
1. Amonia high amonia levels are quick killers of fish. Incoming water from fish that have just shipped are usualy vvery high in amonia which is why they need to taken out of the shipping water as soon as possible.

Are you keeping 1% in your pond all the time? Why? That’s more of a salt bath level (30 to 60 minutes)… not something you should be keeping the fish in all of the time and I seriously doubt any FW plant will tolerate that level..

Every day I hear more stories about lousy water supplies - both wells and city water.
For example: Miami-Dade in 2006 was reporting 2.1 - 2.7ppm chloramines.
Our local Superman (a KHA) has noticed that his water in NW greater Atlanta went from a steady 7.4 last year to 8.2ish currently.
