Who Was That Masked Man? Thanks Dr. Tim!

Ray,
He is one and the same person. He used to do quite a bit of speaking at conventions and such for fish folk, but I do not know if he still does. I have not heard of him being on the east Coast in quite some time.

[AquaticLife] Who Was That Masked Man? Thanks Dr. Tim!

Yeah this is the worst winter I’ve seen since I was a kid, and I dont’ think that one was even that bad. So it’s been easily 15-20 years since we’ve had this much snow, especially all at once. I’m so ready for the rain to come back, at least I can […]

Sounds like I need to move to the ‘dirty’ south as you so put it Lenny We have had intermittent rain in between snow so there’s now ice under snow and more snow is coming down. There is easily 3 1/2 to 4 feet of snow out there, and much more […]

I once asked a customer service agent at drsfostersmith.com to put in added padding in the light fixture they kept sending me, well the next one I got was shipped the same as the others, and of course every one of them was broken when it got here. Speaking of, I still […]

I think that guy (Dr. Tim,tinyfish95021,) just saved me a bit of money.   His description about his product makes perfect sense, its living. So if you have an extremely cold weather shipment ( like is folks here in the frozen Northeast of Pennsylvania), coming from some mail order supplier and the stuff gets frozen […]

Unless you are teetering on the edge of having enough oxygen in the tank to support the fish, which, from the video’s I saw you are not, there is nothing to worry about. Yes, live plants will take in O2 at night and release CO2 in turn, it is not normally enough to upset the […]

I skipped over DebR’s question earlier this morning (what the heck am I doing getting up at 4 AM when I can sleep late?). Algae is a primitive plant, probably the most primitive we are likely to see up close and personal. It is often the first plant to grow in aquaria, even if we […]

OT for Ray

Ray,
You could be suffering from any, or a combination, of a number of problems. There is a problem known as Winrot in which the OS degrades over a period of time. Many factors contribute to this. It is much worse with 98 than with XP and Vista.
Your machine may be infected with malware, which pretty […]
