[AquaticLife] I’m back

Many of the PetsMart fish are the bottom of the barrel fish from breeders since PetsMart wants the best/lowest prices on what they buy. Most breeders will keep the best fish for themselves, the next best would go to their closest friends who are also breeders, then to their local customers, aquarium societies, LFS […]

[AquaticLife] sealant question

The gravel should be in the tank with the fish and filtration… unless the “another tank” refers to another fish stocked tank. The nitrifying bacteria needs the ammonia from the fish and decaying detritus as the starting food for the nitrogen cycle.

[AquaticLife] Driftwood Cleaning & Curing…. Now, why didn’t I think of this???

However, the dishwasher does not remove algae.so scrubbing is still required.

I would have to say it probably depends on your dishwasher. My dishwasher has a little spot on the door where I put in the liquid spot remover, it just unscrews and there’s a hole where the screw was that you pour the spot remover into.

Oh, the over-sudsing thing happened a couple of years ago while my son was home on vacation. We finally got enough of the Dawn out by refilling the hole in the door with hot water and then soaking it out with paper towels over and over […]
