Well it arrived today! 12 gallon tank, can not overdose, I added what it says for 20 gallon.
I also own Dr. Tim, aka tinyfish, aka that masked man, another thank-you. Not only did he send a bigger bottle than I purchased, but he also sent along his stress relief that is a declor & […]

Snail snafu

Yes Lenny that is what it looks like. It mostly happens to the larger snails. It is probably like mentioned, the bigger foot making it have more of a suction and the snails being sucked in. I have had to pull the snail (shredded) out of the intake. Not nice believe me. […]

Snail snafu

I have lost a number of adult mystery snails to the intake filter. I have a fluval canister on the tank that this happened to and I had to put a sponge pre filter on it to avoid this problem. Pam

[AquaticLife] I really messed up this time!

The best thing to use for shims would be pieces of hardwood shaped in wedges. Some roofing shingles could also be used if the gap needing to be filled was large enough. If you go to a hardware or big box home improvement store, they actually sell packages of shims in the windows […]

See my previous post to Bill. A tank and the stand are designed to sit level. Considering the weight of a tank, if it’s leaning too much, it starts to create new pressure or stress points which could cause either the tank or the stand to fail. Water weighs 8 pounds per […]

How unlevel is it? Can you take pics from front and side to show it? Do you have hardwood floors, tile, carpeting, other?
If it’s only a little unlevel, it won’t cause any danger but might not be as aesthetically pleasing. Usually, filling the water until the water line is hidden by the […]

I used a scoop to remove the eco-complete. Job not perfect, but I got down to using a rag to get the last parts, my thoughts was I wanted to get as much out, like rinsing the gravel to get the dirt out.. Did not have a wet dry vac, and did not […]

Couple of additional questions
1) you wrote you “removed the Eco-complete” can you explain that more. Was there still some in the tank? I reason I ask is that you are the second person in two days to mention eco-complete in a tank that had high ammonia even with One & Only.
I looked up […]
