Actually, my ultra conservative brother is always railing about taxes too……but then he whines about me ridin a socialist bicycle all the time…eh??? no…I don’t have to pay tax on the fuel for that. (food has no sales tax here!) just to make you guys all sick. I purchased $20 of gas three weeks ago for my Mitsubishi Coupe. another $3 worth for my Honda Motorcycle (a 125cc street bike that is old enough to VOTE!) other than that, I get around on a bicycle for nearly EVERYTHING that it is possible to use it for. today I brought home $111 worth of groceries….not as much as you might think…but still enough! I have a photo for anyone who is interested!
I also rode my bicycle to two entertainment gigs this weekend. It is nice to have a part time job that pays a couple hundred $s for 5-6 hours work! At about $0.05 to FILL the batteries on my bikes electric assist, that will fuel me for a couple of years!
THAT is my protest. If something gets too expensive…..don’t buy it! figure out something else!
Yes, I CAN transport fish on my bike. My last fish was a rescued/adopted Goldfish 10 inches long that rode 10 miles in my bike bags. No damage and the silly thing is thriving in my tank as we speak!
OK, it is not a terribly effective thing for everyone, but I can use a bike for about 50% of my travel, the motorcycle, about another 20-30%
