SATURDAY NIGHT FOR THOSE WHO ARE BORED
(Like Sue - who just doesn’t feel like going out to shovel any more snow!)
The following is a question on one of our in-house training tests. Please do not post any answers until Sunday (so the bored can get it wrong all on their lonesome…..)
The upper pond is circular and is 4 feet in radius and is 18 inches deep. The lower pond is square and is 9 feet along the left edge. It is 20 inches deep. They are connected by a waterfall: the upper pond overflows into the lower pond.
What is the volume? ____________________________
Assuming an evaporation rate of 1 inch per week, how much does each pond level change in four weeks? Top pond? _____________________
Lower pond? ___________________
GOOD LUCK - - -
