Returning to the hobby - Intro

My name is Dawn. I live in SE Arizona with my dear hubby of almost 15 years. I’m gearing up to get aquariums again after 5 years out of the hobby. I had aquaria for nearly 20 years, then I had to sell my tanks due to personal circumstances 5 years ago. Ouch! I’ve had a wide variety of aquarium fish, and even had a freshwater fiddler crab at one time (bugger kept finding holes to escape through, but thankfully it didn’t kill him *G*). Smallest tank was 10 gallon, largest was 125 gallon. The last 10 years or so, I kept only natural planted tanks - no filters, no heaters, no airstones or pumps. Just tanks, sand, lots of plants and good lighting.
Unfortunately, having sold my tanks 5 years ago means I have to start all over again. *sigh* This time I plan to stay smaller - 20-55 gallon tanks. So no oscars amongst my kiddos this time. ;-)
This time around I’m planning several tanks rather than one or two really whopper ones. Getting my first axies soon, which I know will have to live alone. So one tank down. I also have a couple of other tanks in the planning process. Want to know what I want, so I know what size tanks and what equipment I may need. I’ll most likely be doing mostly natural tanks again, but I haven’t really made up my mind. Sure was nice not having to maintain filters though. *G*
I look forward to having other fish hobbyists to talk to and learn from. Thanks for having me! :-)
