question on feeding
I have a one gallon that housed baby platies for the first few months. I cycled it just as I would a large tank, now it houses a little snail that trekked in on some plants (don’t have the heart to get rid of him and he doesn’t eat much 
They certainly do make gravel vacuums small enough for my one gallon. It’s only about an inch wide, but it does the job - certainly can’t use the Python. You do wind up taking out about half of the water just to get all of the gravel vacuumed, but it’s never needed to re-cycle after a water change.
