So, now I am looking at a 3000 gallon pond for about 20 fish (7 goldfish + 3 koi which were rescued and 10 new 6-8″ koi):

Am I missing anything?

A PUMP!! Make that Tetra bottom drain a 4″ with air dome and you’ve got the start of a nice pond there. You’ll need a settlement chamber before the Bead filter. It’s always a good idea to have your bottom drain line and your skimmer line two separate circutes so if one fails the other can hold the pond until repairs are made. So when do you start digging?
