I HAD to turn down TWO beautiful Koi yesterday because they were too big for my tanks. I took one that was beautiful and only about 10 inches long. If my pond was set up, I could have taken them! If you tell the Aquatics person that you are interested in Koi they might keep an eye out for you and let you know when one becomes adoptable.
This is not JUST to benefit you the customer either. This keeps people from either killing the fish out of hand, or tossing it in the local river or flushing it into the sewer system. Better for the fish, better for you, better for the environment too. We have wild grass Carp around here and they are compatible with Koi.
