A 5G bucket or igloo type ice chest will work for several smaller goldfish for a short trip. Just make sure she slowly acclimates them to her pond… not just dumping them in. Whether you use a 5G bucket or a cooler, if it’s been used for something maybe not good for your fish, put a clean garbage bag in first so you can fill it up more, then you can add the fish and have air space and then use a twist tie on the top of the bag below the top of the container. This way, if you do come to a sudden stop, you won’t have the water sloshing out.. unless you have good covers for the containers, then they should do the job.
It would be a good idea for you to know your and her water parameters before you make the move so she’ll have an idea of how long to acclimate them for.
