[Ponds-Koi] snails

Snails, especially when they are “mass producing” are actually an indicator that you may have other issues that you need to address and then the snail population will thin out on it’s own.
Nuisance type pond snails, generally, are opportunistic breeders and will usually only become a problem when there is an excess amount of food for them to eat on. Limit the food and they’ll slow down on the breeding. You may be feeding your fish too much (don’t we all!) and if you are, it just means you need to do more frequent filter maintenance, bottom vacuuming, etc., to remove the excess food and then the snails will quit breeding so often.
What are your water parameters like? Temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, hardness, etc.? How big is your pond and how many fish do you have… and what size fish?
Do you have live plants in the pond?
In a way, you are lucky that they are going to your filter to feed on the “food” that is in there… at least you can dispose of them using your filter as the “snail trap”.
