[Ponds-Koi] Saturday night quiz thingee
I prepared this answer late Friday night but held off on sending until Sunday evening.
The pH will be higher because that first reading at sunrise has water with a higher CO2 level (which lowers the pH) since the plants were not photosynthesizing all night long since there was no light. Near the end of the day, the plants have been photosynthesizing all day and sucking up CO2 all day so the pH should be higher.
Why do you say “AS USUAL, a little foam at the base of the waterfall”? It’s not “usual” to have foaming problems. One of the goldfish had babies that turned into “Nature’s Occasional Treat”… lol… which is the likely reason for the foaming caused by excess proteins/DOC’s in the water. Time for a weekly PWC.
I hope that Anacharis and other plants are growing like crazy or them hungry goldfish will start consuming them if the owner is only going to feed them occasionally. You know that goldfish don’t eat to live… they live to EAT!!!
