[Ponds-Koi] Other pond fish compatible with Koi?
I’ve had catfish in the pond before. They grew from a pair of cute little pinky-sized albino channel cats into 2ft eating machine in about a year. You think they’d stay at the bottom and eat crap but they soon learn to eat surface pellet food with the kois. Pretty soon they were eating up all the pellet food with their wide scooping mouths and the kois couldn’t compete. I had no choice but to net and kill them (then bread and fry them but that’s another story). Tried it two separate times and decided not to do it again, in part because I do think of them as pets and didn’t enjoy killing them.
