Ok, I saw em, I saw em. I was out on the deck tonight and checking out my pond and found out why their was so much white foam. Someone said that i the fish spawn and the big fish eat the little fish their will be lots of protean in the water. Well I guess they did spawn. I saw 4 baby goldies about a half inch long or so and a few smaller about half the size of the larger ones. So I must have had a couple mothers that dropped babies at different times. On top of that I even saw a fishy that I didn’t put there. I have the original 5 goldies that I put in their last spring that are about 4 inches or so long now and thats all I put it. My fiancĂ©e saw a fish at the top of the water close to the edge. I didn’t get a good look at it because when I hit it with the light it darted under the water. It looked almost like a fishing minnow, kinda silverish gold with a couple strips down the length. It was about an inch and a half or so long give or take. Just right to use as fish bait. And the thing is, I didn’t put it there. I don’t have a clue how it got in there. My pond only about 250 gallons and is in the middle of my deck about a mile or a little less from the closest body or water. This is cool and a little strange. Like they used to say on the Scooby Doo show “Gang, we’ve got a mystery” Wally Amarillo Texas
LOL!!! Cute story!!! Goldies look like little minnows when they are young. So it is likely a goldie that hasn’t changed color yet or just starting to change which might explain the odd markings. Enjoy your tribe!!! Sue
