It seemed to be about 60 degrees when it showed up. It warm up past there for about a week and started to go away and continued to go away. Unfortunately now we’ve dropped to 55 once again:( Lori

That is what I have read as well. The only thing that confuses me a little is the water has been warm for a while now. I would have thought it would have shown up earlier. I don’t know for sure as I am new at this. Thanks for any info you have to offer. ZachLori Little wrote:
Absolutely nothing. When the water temp goes up, it goes away. The one who had it worst had it on both the dorsal fin and the bottom of his tail, and I believe a small light patch on his body too. It’s taken probably a month and it is all gone now. Didn’t affect the fish at all, and we had no parasites. I was worried it was a water quality problem, but my parameters were very close to what yours are at now, my filter was dirty, but I understand it is a just cold water virus. Lori

Thanks Lori, Sounds similar. What did you do to help the fish along? ZachLori Little wrote:
I am no expert…but, it sounds very similar to the koi pox I had about a month ago. One of my koi had just spots on the fins that looked like wax drops, another had larger sections that looked like a thickening of the fin a little bit pinky colored. It appears to be gone now. Lori

Hello, We have a Kumonryu that appears to be healthy. Schooling with all the others and eating well. I noticed this morning a flesh colored marking at the front of the dorsal fin where it meets the body. In looking at videos of anchor worm it does not appear to look like these. Anchor worm appears to be thin and somewhat trasparent at least on the video I watched. I have never observed it in real life. I know it is difficult but any thoughts on what I may be seeing. All water levels are good. ph 8.0 ammonia and nitirte 0 nitrate 5.0 salt .06 kh 89.5 I treated with baking soda gh 125.3 phosphates .5. The marking appears to have some mass but not much and also appears to be in the tissue of the dorsal fin. Thanks for any help. Zach
