IF YOU ARE A JAPANESE you call it KOI which is probably short for KUO (national) YEE (fish). IF YOU ARE A FILIPINO you call it KARPA. IF YOU ARE AMERICAN you call it CARP. IF YOU ARE CHINESE you call it LI YI which is what the Chinese restaurant LI YI MIN (Gate of Carp) in Banawe st. means.
