Newbie.. in OKLAHOMA needing some help
There could be a good chance the goldfish being chased is a female and the chasers are just the male goldfish trying to get her to spawn. Is the one being chased very chunky. If so, that’s she is probably a female ready to spawn. If she is a female, and you do want her to, It would most likely be best to either: (1) Move her to a separate tank along with your best looking chaser (male) and just let the one male take care of the spawning activities with her, … or (2) move the other fish to a separate tank and let the female and one male do their spawning in the pond. Once the female is spawned, she should be placed into a tank by herself for a few days. You should treat the water in that tank with Melefix to aid her in recovering from the stress and damage caused to her during spawning. If you want to keep any of the fry from the spawn, you’ll need to place the spawned eggs into a heavily aerated tank that has NO fish in it, or the eggs will all be eaten.
If the chased fish is not spawning, I’d still place it into a separate tank and treat the water with Melefix. Don
