Names

While I think it is traditional since the many varieties of KOI have come from Japan to use there Japeneese names I realy find it confusing. I had several books on Koi and it was interesting that some of them had various descriptions for some of the names.
Tancho: Definition 1. A white koi with only a RED spot at the top of the head. Definition 2. A Koi with the only red marking being at the top of the head. Definition 3 any Koi with a red spot at the top of the head.
Then in one reference book on scales if gave Hikarimuji as metalic scales another name for pearescent scales. and a third name for standard scales.
Now is the scale varieties listed as kagamigoi, Kawagoi, and Yorigoi have a double meaning are they interchangable with the other names? Or are they simply two different descriptions of the same thing?
