My pump keeps plugging!
I cut the filter material to fit all six sides. Then I put the pump in place, put the lava rock in (not in a bag or anything), as much lava rock that will fit, then put the last piece of filter material on the top and tuck it in a bit so it won’t float away.

I am interested in how you set up the milk crate as a prefilter for your pump. I have a cal torpedo pump for a 4000 gallon pond and I have it hooked to go to my filter. I would think it would this setup would work better. Do you put lava rocks in bag before you put it in crate, how do you hold filter material in the crate, etc.? Thanks in advance.
