Mother’s Day present - stocking a 29 gallon
I was gone all week and came home to a lovely gift from my family! Husband hauled a used (bought second hand years ago never used by us) 29 gallon tank and stand out of the basement and cleaned it up. Then family got me gift cards for the LFS. I’ve been hemming and hawing about setting up a larger tank for some time, now have my incentive to do it.
Soooo, now I finally have to decide what to put in it. I am leaning towards Rainbows and gouramis. From what I am reading, there are some of each type that should work well together, I think?
I am more familiar with gouramis. Thinking Dwarf (have had before, love them) if I can find a pretty male and 1 or 2 females. How about Licorice Gourami? ANd which Rainbows? I’ve had a couple of types of blue eyes before, none of the larger. Also would love to add a pair of Kribs if they might work in?
Some other random thoughts; I like the look of Hatchet fish, various tetras, corys, plecos and loaches. This tank will be in the main living area of the house, so I want plants and an attractive fish assortment. And yes, I’ve cycled tanks before, know to add fish slowly, etc.
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions, admonishments, etc.
