FIREANTS
There is a wonderful chemical that kills ants and is safe to use around the pond. It is NOT a poison - and it only affects/kills certain insects with a certain photoreceptor and enzyme.
The problem is that the manufacturer has targeted 4 specific markets and will not sell it to anyone else (yet) and we are not one of the four.
The folks at S C Johnson are purchasing it and packaging it in a spray can in the RAID product line called EARTH OPTIONS. The carrier stinks!! but the product should be fish safe. I have not tried the spray can with fish. If someone in Texas has a sacrificial goldfish, they can try it with an old plantpot as a pond and see how it goes.
I am so ticked off at the manufacturer - I employ the actual inventor at a different company, and the stuff is GREAT!! But they will not let me buy any! BUMMER!!!
More later when they loosen up.
