[AquaticLife] my red devil July 3, 2008 @ 5:19 pm · Filed under Philippines Internet Koi Society Red devils are all very aggresive, that’s just how they are. There is nothing you can do to “calm her down”……..I would read up about the variety to familiarize yourself with them, and keep her in that tank alone. Kristen
[AquaticLife] my red devil July 3, 2008 @ 3:19 pm · Filed under Philippines Internet Koi Society Hi James, The name of the fish kind of hints at the nature of the fish in this case. What kind of Algae eaters do you have? How big is the tank? Gallons and dimensions? From your posting I cannot tell which fish inhabited the tank you have first. The cichlid or the algae eaters. If you take […]
question on feeding July 3, 2008 @ 1:19 pm · Filed under Philippines Internet Koi Society It’s possible, certainly not an ideal situation or an easy task at times though. I had a 1g guppy ‘bowl’ for several years with a small UGF on it. I would still do weekly changes and as needed, I’d tip all the gravel out in a bucket of tank water and rinse, […]

question on feeding July 3, 2008 @ 1:19 am · Filed under Philippines Internet Koi Society I still an legitimately curious how you cycle a one gallon. How do you clean it properly without disturbing the cycle? I have never known anyone to do that, usually one gallons have to be almost rinsed out since gravel sweepers can’t fit inside. _____ From: UniQuaria@yahoogroups.com [mailto:UniQuaria@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of kellygrenke Sent: Wednesday, July […]

When the fish died, you said they looked to be in good condition. Did you look at their gills at all before disposing of them? I think it would be wise for you to remove the koi from your pond […]

Koi not eating and hiding July 2, 2008 @ 8:19 pm · Filed under Philippines Internet Koi Society My priorities on testing would be. 1. Amonia high amonia levels are quick killers of fish. Incoming water from fish that have just shipped are usualy vvery high in amonia which is why they need to taken out of the shipping water as soon as possible. 2. pH pH that is […]

question on feeding July 2, 2008 @ 4:19 pm · Filed under Philippines Internet Koi Society Why are you going to use the ammolock, if your ammonia levels are back into the safe zone? Just curious because I thought that product was sort of suspect in terms of usefulness. Just asking! Bren
