In addition to all of those suggestions, here’s one more piece of advice. If you are using a digital camera, you may have a manual setting on the lens. I have a Nikon D40 and on my lenses, I have a M for manual and an A for Auto.
Check out the pictures on flickr for the Betta. That was my first attempt with the D40 and the fish….I used the manual setting on the lens and used the appature priority on the shutter.
