I’m going to do this as well and have the same wish…no snails. How do you sanitize the decorations (in my case rocks) to kill the snail eggs? And how do you remove the tiny baby snails from the substrate when they are the same size as the grains?
In my case, I will probably use new decorations and substrate just to foil the snails. But one last and most important question. How can you be sure there are no tiny baby snails or eggs lurking in the filter? Because THAT is how I cycle my new tanks…transfer a used filter.
