Another question.. Center Braces
I was just given an old 55 gallon aquarium. I think its old because it was not manufactured with a center brace on the top or bottom. I can’t find a manufacturer name on it. The braces did not break off nor were they taken off. Its also made with very thick glass, a little bit bigger that 3/8″. My two current 55 tanks have glass thats alot thinner but both have the braces on the top and bottom (both made by AllGlass). The owner said she had it in her living room for 7 years, but had it stored in the garage for a year. I currently have it in the garage filled with water to check for leaks. So far none but the glass is bowed in the middle about 3/4″. Should I make a braces for it to be on the safe side or is this how the tank was made??
