I think you would agree that have a few clues about water quality, water volume and a few hints about fish health, correct? Weeeellllllll……Not too many years ago, when I fired up the smaller “water garden” (before it became a koi pond) I had one spring that was pretty bad with string algae which was not normal for this pond. I knew my gallons (metered) had a ton of air stones going and a waterfall. I heard about this great “new” product called Algaefix. Thought I would give it a try as the nice carpet algae was getting out of hand. It was early spring, filters not up to par yet, water temp just above 55 degrees, fish had grown….yadda, yadda, yadda…. Dosed at the correct amount for my pond. By evening I had fish in really bad shape. Did a large water change…saved about 1/2 of them. Never again!!! If I run across anyone that insists upon using this product, I recommend 1/2 the recommended dose. That seems to work well and I have yet to loose a fish to that recommendation. Sue
